COMMUNITY SERVING ON SATURDAYS
The Saturday Servants outreach has been so
successful, both for the volunteers and the
recipients, that a new service has been launched. The S.S. has been going to homes of seniors and
the physically challenged to do small jobs.  During
our brainstorming even last winter, other members
expressed interest in serving on Saturdays in
another capacity.  So Community Serving on
Saturdays has been envisioned.  This program will involve church
members and preschool families in“service” together. Each of these events will help
those beyond our local church and give preschool families the opportunity to participate.  These
are the activities that are being planned.  Please put
these dates on your calendar and plan to Serve on
Saturdays to make a difference around the world.

 Nov. 29– Box and wrap gifts for the Kingdom

Chancel Choir

Each  Sunday the Chancel Choir, leads our choir in a variety of styles, arrangements and  with special soloists, offering the ministry of music.
We are looking for additional members to join the choir who want to sing praises to the Lord!  Please come to choir practice on Thursdays at 7:30.  Give our choir director Lisa a chance to show your singing talents and how talented she is.

PRAYER MINISTRY

Concerns of church members and others are held up in prayer. Your privacy is assured. Contact the pastor by phone or email. 314-647-1228 or unionumcstl@sbcglobal.net

Prayer Team
The prayer team consists of anyone who would like to come pray for Union UMC and its ministries.  For a half hour to and hour we pray as a group in various ways.  Some times silently while walking through the church, sometimes as a group in a circle each sharing aloud in prayer as he/she is moved.  Everyone  who attends Union is welcome and encouraged to participate.  Just show up.  The meeting time is Wednesdays at 3:00 pm.

CARING CALLERS

Caring Callers are a special group of lay persons who each visit one or two homebound members on a regular basis.  New caring callers are always welcome.

REACHING OUT
Our church is reaching out with worship services at Ollie Langhorst Senior
Apartment, 5800 Arsenal. We are having services every Sunday from
11:30 am - 12:00.pm  Each Sunday we offer a different
service; on the first Sunday Pastor Dianne has a message and offers
Communion , the second Sunday Lisa, our Choir Director, offers a
musical service (residents choose what songs they like to
sing); third Sunday the Ladies’ Sunday School class has Bible Study
and some singing; and the fourth Sunday Carol H. has Bible Study and
songs.  Luella, our church organist, will also be participating on the
fifth Sundays.  Sometimes, a resident will volunteer to play the piano
for our services..  We would love to have some of our congregation
come to participate and get to know the residents. They have a lot to
share.  We leave right after our service here at Union UMC.  The Langhorst
Apartments are located at: 5800 Arsenal (2 blocks East of Hampton).
Please join us!!
