About Us

Who we are

Union United Methodist Church affirms the sacred worth of all people and welcomes everyone for worship, prayer, service, fellowship, and learning. Service at Christ’s table in Holy Communion is open to all. As United Methodists, we confess belief in the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit..

Our Beliefs

We are a part of the United Methodist Church whose foundations are rooted in the teachings of John Wesley. We believe in the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in God our Father and the Father of all creation. We believe in God incarnate in Jesus Christ who walked among us, shared God’s love with us, and who died for the sins of all. We believe in God dwelling within us as the Holy Spirit, guiding us, and watching over us each moment of each day.

We believe that God’s grace and forgiveness is freely offered to everyone, that God’s grace is not earned through the actions of our lives.

We acknowledge Scripture as the primary source of understanding God’s presence in our lives and as our guide to faithful living. As United Methodists, we believe that our attempts to grasp the meaning of Scripture involves the tradition of the church, personal experience, and the ability to reason for ourselves.

Of greatest importance for United Methodists is to invite people into faith and to nurture our relationship with and our love of God. We recognize the right of Christians to differ in doctrine, requiring only the essential belief that God is our Creator, that Jesus the Christ is our Lord and Savior, and that the Holy Spirit is ever present in our lives.
