Love in Christ, Learn from Christ, Lead to Christ

Pastor's Corner

 Pastor's Corner-Meet the Pastor

Blessings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On June 13 we voted to accept the Healthy Church Initiative

prescriptions.    They included a day of prayer, fixing the

parking lot, getting better signage, and having

conversation with a younger growing congregation,

The Gathering.    We have accomplished much.

On July 11, Rev. Sherry Habben lead us in the prayer

service.   Her message was based on the faith of

Jairus and the faith of the woman who was healed by

touching Jesus cloak.  Both of them received a blessing

by reaching out in trust and faith in what Jesus could do.

We were able to write those things which might

hold us back as individuals and as a congregation

from going into the future in faith.    Then we came forward

to leave those things with God, to pray at the

railing, and to be anointed for a new beginning.

On July 13, work began and we now have a newly repaved

parking lot with stripes and bumpers.  The trustees with

special help from Jan MacDonald made this possible.  Thanks.

On July 14 a team went to First UMC in Sedalia to

look at inside signs.  On July 15 our church council met

with our coach Rev. Londia Granger Wright.   On August 7th

the futuring team will be visiting Broadway UMC in Kansas

City to talk with their pastors and members about their

experiences with two congregations using one facility.

When Jesus called the first disciples, "he said to them,

'Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.'  Immediately

they left their nets and followed him." Matthew 4:19-20

I was struck that immediately they left, but they

had no idea where they were going, how they were going

to learn, and how long it would take to accomplish this

new task.  We said yes much like the disciples.  The future is still
unclear, but we are on the way.   Continue to pray that

Christ lead us and that we receive the grace needed for this

transition time. (it was 3yrs for the disciples)

Grace and Peace,  Pastor Dianne
